Frequently Asked Questions //
- Can I still register if I missed all the registration dates?
- Yes. Registration is from April to the end of May. As long as there is still room available, we accept players after the last registration. Please fill out an application form and provide all necessary paperwork.
- Can I request that my child play with a friend or a specific coach?
- Yes, but we cannot guarantee placement after the first registration date. Please list your requests on the application form and will do our best. Requests are processed first come-first served.
- When will I be notified what team my child is on or when practices start?
- You will be notified sometime mid-August. Most practices don't start until the week before school as many families are still on vacation. Even then, practice schedules vary by team but generally each team practices twice a week for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. All games are on Saturdays, except U6 games, which are on Friday evenings.
- How long is the season?
- The season begins in August and runs through the middle of November, the weekend before Thanksgiving.
- Why do U6 games start earlier than other age groups?
- Since U6 games are played at night, they must start earlier to avoid day light savings later in the season.
- Can you tell me more about La Sierra games?
- La Sierra participates in recreational Class IV games within District VI. Under 6 play Friday nights, while all other teams play on Saturdays. All games and practices are held at local parks and schools within the Carmchicael district. Practices start late August and games start in September.

- U6 & U8 plays with a size 3 soccer ball. U10 & U12 plays with a size 4 soccer ball. A size 5 ball will be needed for U14 and above.
- Can I bring my pet to the games?
- CYCA does not allow any pets where children are playing soccer. We love animals but please leave them home so games are not interrupted for removal of a pet.
- What is your refund policy?
- A full refund will be issued any time before May. After September 1st, a 50% refund is based on board approval. There are no refunds on uniforms.
- What is included in registration fees?
